This is a rare and complete set of unique vintage slate coasters featuring 6 Scottish castles and 1 thistle emblem.

Handmade in the UK, the coasters are hand split and shaped from the only slate in the world that has super fine ribboning and a smooth texture making them ideal for hand painting, art applique or etching. The scenes are hand drawn by artists using ultra-fine ink pens which is then transferred to the coaster surfaces. The coasters are heat resistant, impervious to alcohol and are cork backed (the cork was further protected at a later point).

The scenes include: Traditional Scottish Thistle Emblem, Balmoral Castle, Culzean Castle, Edinburgh sales Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, Glamis Castle and, Stirling Castle.
